Wakefield Hockey Club are committed to raising £30,000 by easter to help fill any shortfall in the funding of the two new pitches. Can you help!!
Wakefield Hockey Club are pleased to announce that the planning application they submitted to Wakefield Council has been passed, providing Wakefield Sports Club and Wakefield Hockey Club meet a number of criteria before bringing contractor on-site. Work is likely to start in November on building the new pitch on the football pitch. On completition of the new pitch, work will start on replacing the existing pitch.
This has left us confident that work will be finished well in time for the visit of the Chinese Olympic Team.
A number of people have worked extremely hard to make this application a successful one, and we would like to thank all those involved. Special thanks must go to Peter Clay, Chris Partridge, Dave Smith, Norman Hughes and Trevor Hilling-Smith.
Wakefield Hockey Club would also like to thank Wakefield Sports Club, the management committee and all the clubs based at Wakefield Sports Club for its support.
As soon as there is official publication of the contractors, pitch etc... we will let you know. Keep following this page for the latest information, webcams and actvities going on.
